While there is always more that can be done, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact. We don’t measure our success through just facts and figures, but through happy faces and heartwarming feedback. See how you can become part of the difference.

Our History
The Metamorphosis Project started in approximately 1997 at the historically black LeMoyne Owen College. We began feeding the unhoused and hungry in the city. The seeds of compassion and helping the less fortunate were planted during my childhood by my mother and grandparents. Our family always helped each other but they also helped others in the community and at our church in north Memphis. My mom made it mandatory for her children to volunteer most summers. Growing up this way cultivated a servant’s heart for assisting the unsheltered and hungry. Since I was raised to help others and had been feeding the homeless for so long, I decided to start The Metamorphosis Project in 2021 to organize and garner more support. This has allowed the organization to broaden the efforts to affect the city in a positive manner.
At The Metamorphosis Project, we pride ourselves on exemplary service and are committed to helping to better our community and city.
Our Leadership
The Metamorphosis Project is governed by a Board of Directors with representation from the Memphis, TN Metropolitan area.
The Metamorphosis Project leadership is dedicated to assuring high-impact services for the unhoused population in the city of Memphis. We set bold goals and a clear strategic direction in partnership with other local nonprofits.
